At a Glance

The course carries 60 CPD hours, loggable with any UK professional body — including BACP, NCPS, UKCP, COSCA, and others.

Recognition by your body

These 60 CPD hours count towards your annual continuing professional development requirements with:

  • BACP — British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • NCPS — National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society
  • UKCP — UK Council for Psychotherapy
  • COSCA — Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland

— and other UK and Irish professional bodies that operate CPD frameworks.

Counselling Tutor's professional standing

Beyond this specific course, Counselling Tutor is:

  • An organisational member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)
  • A national organisational member of NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society)
  • A training provider with 10+ years' experience and 50,000+ practitioners trained across all our courses

A note on accreditation language

It's worth being transparent: no UK ethical body accredits CPD courses as part of their regulatory function. BACP, NCPS, and UKCP set ethical frameworks, run complaints procedures, and publish guidance — they do not assess and approve individual CPD courses.

If a CPD provider claims their course is "BACP accredited," that claim is incorrect — that accreditation doesn't exist for CPD. The meaningful recognition is what this course actually has: 60 CPD hours loggable with all UK ethical bodies, plus the credibility of Counselling Tutor as an organisation.

International members

If you practise outside the UK, your own professional body sets the rules for what counts as CPD. Counselling Tutor certificates are widely accepted internationally — but please check with your own body if specific recognition is needed.
