When you complete the course, you receive a downloadable Trauma-Informed Practitioner badge for use on your website, directory listings, email signatures, and marketing materials. It is a trust signal for clients searching for a counsellor who has done specific training in trauma-informed work.
What the badge says
When a potential client visits your website or directory listing and sees the badge, it communicates something specific:
"I have invested in serious training in trauma-informed practice. I have done the work to meet you safely."
For clients who have experienced trauma — many of whom have had difficult experiences in healthcare and therapy settings and are scanning carefully for practitioners who understand — this signal matters.
How graduates use it
- On their professional website — typically near their qualifications and credentials
- In their directory listings (Counselling Directory, Psychology Today, BACP Find a Therapist, etc.)
- In email signatures when corresponding with prospective or current clients
- On printed materials — leaflets, business cards, posters
The badge is supplied as a downloadable image file you can place wherever fits your existing branding.
What it does and doesn't claim
The badge represents your completion of substantial CPD in trauma-informed practice — a trauma-informed lens, not a trauma therapy specialism. It is a credible, accurate signal of the training you've done.
It is not a regulatory accreditation, and we don't pretend it is. We're transparent about this because overclaiming would undermine the trust the badge is meant to communicate.
Why this matters for your practice
Clients who have experienced trauma often actively look for practitioners who openly identify as trauma-informed. Many have learned, often through painful experience, that not every counsellor is equipped to meet them where they are. The badge helps the right clients find you — and helps you stand behind your training with confidence.
