What makes this course different from other supervision training?

At a Glance

Most supervision training falls into one of two camps — university programmes that are academically rigorous but expensive and inflexible, or weekend workshops that lack depth and credibility. This course is built deliberately for the gap in between.

What's distinctive

Several things genuinely set this course apart from what's typical in supervision training.

Online and telephone supervision is integrated, not bolted on

The full title — Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision Including Online and Telephone Working — is itself a positioning statement. Online and telephone supervision runs through the entire curriculum, not as a final-week add-on. This matches the reality of modern practice.

Demonstration, practice, and feedback — not just theory

For every piece of theory, you go through the same cycle: learn it, see it, do it, get feedback. Tutors role-play live mock supervision sessions in front of you. Then you practise in breakout rooms while tutors observe. Then you receive personalised feedback. This is rare in supervision training because it requires multiple tutors per cohort and a different pedagogical model.

Trained educators, not just experienced practitioners

All tutors hold formal teaching qualifications. Many supervision courses are delivered by passionate practitioners who have never been trained to teach. The difference shows up in how dense theory is broken down, how questions are answered, and how the room is held.

Plain English by design

The teaching team includes neurodivergent thinkers who understand the barriers academic language can create. The course aims for clarity, not cleverness. Students often say "I've always wondered what they meant by that" about concepts they had supposedly been taught before.

Built to evolve

The course is reviewed continuously based on feedback from every cohort. Recent additions include neurodivergence content. AI in client work is being added. Lifetime access means you receive these updates automatically — the course you join keeps getting better after you graduate.

How graduates describe it

"This training is in a league of its own in comparison to others I have done."

"Whilst not as academically challenging as a Level 6 supervision course at university, the content is robust and comprehensive."

"It's taken me around 10 years to find a course to fit me and my needs."
