The Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision Including Online and Telephone Working is a professional qualification for experienced counsellors and psychotherapists who want to train as clinical supervisors. It is delivered fully online, carries 180 CPD hours, is taught and assessed at the equivalent of Level 6, and is NCPS Quality Checked.
What it covers
The course prepares you to supervise across all three modalities counsellors now work in — face-to-face, online, and telephone. Online and telephone supervision is woven throughout the curriculum, not bolted on as a final module.

- 180 CPD hours — split across self-directed learning, live sessions, and supervised placement
- 9–12 months total from enrolment to certification
- 6 full-day live sessions on Zoom — every two weeks, on Tuesdays or Saturdays
- 20 placement hours of one-to-one supervision practice with real counsellors
- Two assignments — a written essay and a transcribed practice session with process notes
- Monthly intakes — a new cohort starts every month
- NCPS Quality Checked — and mapped to the BACP supervision competence framework

- Free 10-hour Introduction to Online and Telephone Counselling course included for those who don't already hold formal training in online working
Who has taken it
Over 1,500 supervisors have graduated since the course launched in July 2021. New cohorts continue to fill, with a healthy waiting list maintained between intakes.
