At a Glance
Most CPD available to counsellors is passive, theoretical, or expensive — and very little of it leads to genuine change in client work. The Counsellor CPD Library is built on a different principle: every lecture must be implementable.
The problem with most CPD
You probably know the experience already. A webinar that was interesting but gave you nothing to take into your next session. A conference that cost a day's client income for one talk you can barely remember. A platform that piled up content with no quality control and no practical relevance.
This is the state of CPD for most counsellors. Not because the topics aren't valuable — but because the delivery doesn't connect knowledge to practice.
What "implementable" means here
Every lecture in the Counsellor CPD Library is shaped collaboratively between the production team and the guest lecturer. The guiding question throughout is: "What will the practitioner be able to do differently after watching this?"
In practice, that means:
- Clear learning outcomes — listed up front so you can assess relevance before you commit to a 40-minute lecture
- Practical frameworks you can use — not just theory, but tools that work with real clients
- References and further reading — for when you want to go deeper
- Recommended next lectures — so the learning doesn't stop at one topic
Built by counsellors, for counsellors
The library is created by Ken Kelly and Rory Lees-Oakes — both qualified therapists and experienced educators — together with leading specialist guest lecturers. It is not a generic CPD platform retrofitted for counselling. It is a counselling resource, built from inside the profession.
Multi-format from the ground up
Every lecture comes as video, audio, transcript, slides, and summary. So you can watch on your laptop, listen while walking the dog, or read the transcript on the train. Different learning styles, different lives, same lecture.
