At a Glance
The Counsellor CPD Library was created by Ken Kelly and Rory Lees-Oakes — both qualified counsellors, published authors, and experienced educators. They built it because they were tired of the state of CPD available to counsellors.
Ken Kelly
Ken is Co-Director of Counselling Tutor. He is a qualified counsellor, clinical supervisor, and holds a teaching qualification. He has authored Basic Counselling Skills: A Student Guide and co-authored Online and Telephone Counselling: A Practitioner's Guide. His specialism is outcome-based online learning.
Rory Lees-Oakes
Rory is Co-Director of Counselling Tutor. He is the author of Counselling Theory in Practice: A Student Guide and co-author of Online and Telephone Counselling: A Practitioner's Guide, and brings over a decade of lecturing experience in counselling.
Why they built it
Ken and Rory experienced the same frustrations every counsellor knows — paying for CPD that was vague, passive, or impractical. Conferences that ate a day's income. Webinars that gave them ideas but no implementation pathway.
They believed there was a better way. CPD that respects your time, your learning style, and your ethical responsibility to your clients. Built on sound teaching principles, grounded in real clinical experience, and relevant to everyday practice.
Their philosophy: teach with clarity, structure, and integrity — not just passion.
Counselling Tutor — the bigger picture
The CPD Library sits within Counselling Tutor, the largest provider of training in online and telephone counselling in the UK and many countries worldwide. Over 40,000 practitioners have been trained through Counselling Tutor's courses across more than ten years of operation.
