If you are partway through work with a client when you join TherapyLock, you do not need to recreate every past appointment to keep your numbering straight. Enter the real session number on the note, and TherapyLock uses what you have recorded to suggest the next one.

How to do it

  1. From Your Clients, open the client record. Scroll to Session Notes and click Add Note. The note form opens on the same page.
  2. Click Session Number (Optional) and enter the actual number of this session, so 12 if the last one was 11.
  3. Write the note, then click Save Session Note at the bottom of the form.
  4. To correct a number on a note you have already saved, find the note and click its session number, shown as Session 12 or as Set session number if it has none. Type the right number and save.

Worth knowing: Session numbers are a record-keeping aid and do not affect your practice hours. Hours come from attended appointments, plus anything you enter under Earlier hours for work done before you joined.
