At a Glance
The course is delivered entirely online and combines two elements: 30 hours of self-directed learning at your own pace, plus three full-day live online training sessions on Zoom that form the backbone of the course.
Stage 1 — Self-directed learning (30 hours)
You access the learning portal as soon as you enrol. Inside you'll find:
- 9 modules across 32 lessons, building from safety → stabilisation → practice and diversity → endings
- Video lectures covering the core theory and frameworks
- Downloadable resources — slide packs, audio files, transcripts
- Reflective tasks to process what you're learning
- Suggested reading for going deeper
The portal is accessible 24/7 from any internet-connected device. You progress at the pace that suits your life.
Stage 2 — Three live training days (10am–4pm UK time)
Three full-day live sessions on Zoom, held on alternate weeks across the intake. The day of the week the sessions are held on varies from intake to intake — some run on weekdays, some on Saturdays. The specific dates for upcoming intakes are sent to you by email when you request the course handbook from the course page.
These are not lecture days — they are interactive learning days, combining:
- Tutor-led teaching and demonstrations
- Breakout group discussions to embed the material
- Case discussions and reflective work
- Demonstrations (including an actor-led dissociation video)
- Q&A with experienced trauma-aware tutors
Each day is supported by a dedicated tech host, so the tutors can focus on teaching and you can focus on learning.
What the self-directed work supports
You complete relevant portal modules before each live training day. By the time you arrive at the live session, you've already engaged with the material — so the live day is about deepening, applying, and discussing, not first-time exposure.
This is sometimes called a "flipped classroom" model, and it makes the live days much richer than a traditional lecture format would.
Lifetime access
You keep access to the learning portal indefinitely. The course you complete today remains available to return to whenever you need to revisit the material.
