At a Glance
The live workshop is what makes this course unusual. It is a full-day Zoom session focused entirely on implementation — not instruction. No PowerPoints. No being spoken at. By the time you arrive, you have already done the learning. The day is for putting it to work.
What the day looks like
The workshop runs approximately 10am to 3:30pm UK time. Across the day, you actively translate what you have learned into your own practice. The work includes:
- Drafting website copy — what will you write to inform potential clients that you work with autistic individuals? How will you communicate your approach?
- Planning reasonable adjustments — what specific changes will you make in your therapy room (or online setup) to be more accessible?
- Rethinking contracting and first sessions — how might you contract differently, or structure a first session differently, with an autistic client?
- Exploring professional boundaries — what falls within your competence, and what might warrant referral?
- Peer feedback in breakout rooms — sharing your plans and receiving constructive feedback from colleagues
Tutors and tech support
Tutors are in the room throughout the day for guidance. The workshop is also produced by a dedicated technical host who manages logistics and the Zoom environment, leaving tutors free to focus entirely on facilitation.
Why graduates value the breakout rooms
Across testimonials, the breakout rooms are consistently named as where the learning truly comes alive. The peer interaction, the sharing of perspectives, the collaborative problem-solving — these are not bolt-on features but central to the workshop design.
"I especially appreciated the time we spent in breakout rooms sharing experiences."
"The breakout rooms give you the opportunity to consider many aspects."
"Sharing perspectives with other students was really beneficial and insightful."
Attendance
Full attendance at the workshop is required for graduation. Near-100% of students attend live, often describing the day as the most valued element of the course. If you genuinely can't attend your cohort's date, you can attend a future cohort's live workshop (see the dedicated article on attendance).
