At a Glance
The course is delivered entirely online and combines two stages: 39 hours of self-directed learning at your own pace, followed by a one-day live implementation workshop via Zoom. You complete the self-directed modules first, so you arrive at the live session already informed.
Stage 1 — Self-directed learning (39 CPD hours)
You access six modules through the secure online learning portal. Each module includes a mixture of:
- Video lectures and interviews with practitioners and individuals with lived experience
- Downloadable resources — slide packs, information sheets, audio files
- Reflective tasks to work through at your own pace
- Suggested reading and viewing to go deeper
- Short assessments at the end of each module before moving to the next
You also keep a reflective journal throughout the course. It is not submitted or marked — it is for you, to process the learning.
The portal is accessible 24/7 from any internet-connected device. You work through the modules at the pace that suits your life.
Stage 2 — The live implementation workshop (one full day)
Once you have completed the self-directed modules, you attend the live workshop via Zoom. It runs approximately 10am to 3:30pm UK time on a fixed date.
This is not a lecture day. There are no PowerPoints. You are not spoken at. Instead, you actively translate what you've learned into your practice — drafting website copy, planning reasonable adjustments, rethinking contracting, exploring boundaries. Tutors are present for guidance, peers for discussion and feedback.
(See the dedicated article on the live workshop for what happens during the day.)
After the course
You receive your certificate and Autism-Informed Practitioner badge — and you keep lifetime access to the learning portal. As the course evolves with new research, interviews, and specialist content, you receive every update at no extra cost.
