At a Glance

When you complete the course, you receive the Autism-Informed Practitioner badge — a downloadable digital badge for use on your website, directory listings, email signatures, and marketing materials. It is a trust signal for autistic clients searching for a therapist who has done the work.

What the badge says

When a potential client visits your website or directory listing and sees the badge, it communicates something specific:

"I have invested in serious, in-depth training in autism-informed practice. I have done the work to understand you."

For autistic clients — many of whom have had difficult experiences in healthcare and therapy settings, and who are often actively scanning for practitioners who understand neurodivergence — this signal matters.

How graduates use it

  • On their professional website — typically near their qualifications and credentials
  • In their directory listings (Counselling Directory, Psychology Today, etc.)
  • In email signatures when corresponding with prospective or current clients
  • On printed materials — leaflets, business cards, posters

The badge is supplied as a downloadable image file, so you can place it wherever fits your existing branding.

Why this matters for your practice

Autistic clients increasingly look for practitioners who openly identify as autism-informed. Many have learned, often through painful experience, that warmth alone isn't enough — they need a therapist who understands masking, alexithymia, sensory processing, communication differences, and the specific ways therapy needs to adapt.

The badge helps the right clients find you. And it does so without the need to overclaim — your training is genuine, your understanding is real, and the badge is a quiet, accurate signal of that.

A note on framing

The badge is not a regulatory accreditation, and we don't pretend it is. It is what it is: a credible, recognisable trust signal earned through completing serious training. That is what matters to the clients who are looking for you.
