What is the Student Library?

At a Glance

The Student Library is a 24/7 online learning companion for counselling and psychotherapy students. It translates complex theory into plain English, helps you make sense of your assignments, and gives you a place to turn at 11pm the night before something is due.

Members know it as CSR — the Counselling Study Resource.

What's inside

The library has two main sections, plus bonus courses, resources, and a community:

  • Academic Lectures — covering all the core theory, skills, and practice content taught on UK counselling courses
  • CPD Lectures — specialist content that gives you a peek behind the curtain of qualified practice
  • Two bonus courses included free — the Academic Writing Course (built specifically for counselling students) and Introduction to Online and Telephone Counselling
  • Resources — quick-reference summaries, exemplars of past assignments, and revision documents
  • The Student Community — the largest counselling student community in the world, with around 6,000 members

What it's there for

You probably already know the experience: a tutor delivers a lecture in week three. You take notes. Six months later, you sit down to write an assignment about that topic — and the lecture has faded.

The Student Library is what you go back to. The same content, delivered clearly, available whenever you need it. Not as a replacement for your course — as the bridge between knowing it once and being able to use it now.

How members describe it

"It's like studying wrapped in a welcoming safe feather duvet."

"I did not learn what I know from college — it was from CSR."

"A lifeline."
