I work with specific client groups — what's available?

At a Glance

Whatever your specialism, the library has specialist content. The Specific Presentations and topic-specific categories cover the areas counsellors are most often asked to work in — at depth, with expert guests.

Specialist areas covered

  • Trauma — including ACEs, complex trauma, and trauma-informed practice
  • Addiction — substance use, behavioural addictions, and recovery
  • Eating disorders — assessment, formulation, and ongoing work
  • Loss and bereavement — grief, ambiguous loss, complicated grief, working with bereaved children
  • Children and young people — the teenage brain, developmental considerations, working in schools
  • Neurodiversity — counselling ADHD, autism, autism masking
  • Equality, diversity & inclusion — gender, LGBTQIA+, race and culture, disability
  • Couples — relational work and dynamics
  • Self-harm and suicide — risk, assessment, and clinical work
  • Maternal mental health — perinatal and postnatal presentations

How to find specialist content

Use the search bar to type the area you work in. The AI-powered search returns the most relevant lectures and resources, so you don't have to browse through every category.

You can also use Favourites to build a personalised collection of all your specialist content — your own private library within the library.

When a client brings something new

The library's most valuable use case is the moment of need. A client presents with something you haven't worked with before. That evening, you search the library and find a lecture by an expert in that exact area.

This is what members mean when they describe the library as "exactly what I have been looking for."
