At a Glance
A meaningful proportion of our members are neurodivergent themselves — autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, or otherwise. Many describe the experience as deeply affirming, both professionally and personally. The course was built from inside the experience, and that shows in how it lands.
What members tell us
The feedback from neurodivergent practitioners who have taken the course is some of the most powerful we receive.
"As a neurodivergent counsellor, I can confidently say this course is a game-changer."
"As a late-diagnosed neurodivergent individual myself, I found the course very affirming personally, and from lectures, videos, and discussion groups, I learned lots of tangible things I can immediately implement into my practice to be more inclusive."
"A very high quality training delivered by trainers who are themselves neurodivergent and promote both clarity and compassion."
The recurring word is affirming. It's not a synonym for "nice." It carries specific weight — the experience of seeing yourself and your community treated with dignity, respect, and accuracy.
Why the course resonates
A few features of the course are particularly relevant for neurodivergent learners:
- Built and delivered by neurodivergent practitioners — co-created with autistic individuals and autistic counsellors. The lived experience is in the room, not observed from a distance.
- Identity-first language — "autistic person", consistent with autistic community preference
- Affirming, not deficit-based — autism as human variation, not impairment
- Multi-format learning — video, audio, transcripts, slides, downloads. Different brains, different formats.
- Self-paced self-directed work — at your own rhythm, in your own way
- Reasonable adjustments policy — disclosed needs are supported. The team is explicitly neurodivergent-friendly.
A quiet secondary outcome
Some practitioners going through the course begin to recognise their own neurodivergence — sometimes for the first time. This is a natural and respected outcome of engaging deeply with the material. We don't share identifiable stories, but the experience is real, and the course holds it carefully when it surfaces.
If something in this resonates, you're far from alone.
