Joining and Watching Live Lectures

Counselling Tutor hosts regular live lectures via Zoom, giving you the chance to hear from experts and connect with fellow practitioners — all from home. This article explains how to find upcoming lectures, join on the day, watch replays if you miss one, and claim your CPD certificate.

Finding Upcoming Lectures

You do not need to go searching — we will come to you. When a live lecture is scheduled, you will receive an invitation email with all the details you need to attend.

If you are a member, check your inbox for an invitation email. To confirm your place, click the "Yes, please! Count me in" button in that email. You will then receive a follow-up email with your Zoom joining link.

If you would prefer not to attend live, you can click "No thanks. Send the replay" and we will notify you as soon as the recording is available.

How to Join via Zoom

We use Zoom to stream all our live lectures. After you register, watch your inbox for a confirmation email containing your Zoom link. You will also get a reminder email shortly before the session begins.

Getting Zoom

If you do not already have Zoom, download it for free at zoom.us/download. Install the app and you are ready to go — there is no need to create a Zoom account to join our lectures.

On the Day

Open the invitation email you received from us and click the Zoom joining link.
If prompted, click Open to launch the Zoom app.
You will be placed in the meeting automatically — there is nothing else you need to do.

If you prefer not to install the app, you can also join directly through your web browser. When prompted to open Zoom, click Cancel and look for the "Join from your browser" option.

Quick Tips

No meeting ID needed — just click the link in your email. If you are asked for one, go back to your email and click the link again.
Lecture times are shown in UK time — if you are based elsewhere, use World Time Buddy to convert to your local time zone.
Having trouble? Try restarting your device and clicking the link fresh. If Zoom will not install, check the Zoom system requirements to make sure your device is compatible.

Missed the Live Session? Watch the Replay

Can not make it on the day? No problem. All live lectures are recorded and we will send you a replay link by email — usually within about 2 hours of the session ending.

To make sure you receive the replay, you need to either:

Click "Yes, please! Count me in" in your invitation email to register for the live event, or
Click "No thanks. Send the replay" in your invitation email.

The replay email will include instructions for watching the video and claiming your CPD certificate.

Please note: Replay access via email link is available for 28 days after the event. After that, the recording moves into your membership library — so if you are a member, you can always find it in your dashboard.

Members: The lecture replay and certificate will also appear in your membership dashboard — usually within a week of the live event — giving you permanent access as part of your membership.

Claiming Your CPD Certificate

After watching the lecture (live or replay), you can claim a personalised CPD certificate.

If you watched live or via the replay email and are not a member:

Your replay email will contain full instructions and a short video showing you how to personalise your certificate using a free PDF editor tool to add your name.

Important: The replay link is available for a limited time only — approximately 4 weeks after the live event. You will need to claim your certificate within that period, or you may lose the chance to get your free CPD certificate.

If you are a member:

Go to counsellingtutor.com/login, select the portal for your membership (Student Library or Counsellor CPD Library), and log in.
Find the lecture — either from the Recently Added Lectures list on your dashboard, by using the search bar at the top of the page, or by clicking CPD Lectures in the navigation.
Open the lecture page and scroll to the bottom to find the Certifications section.
Click the lecture title, then click Start Certification.
Confirm you completed the lecture by clicking "Yes – I completed this CPD Lecture in its entirety."
Click Finish Certification.

Your certificate will then appear in the Certifications section of your dashboard. Note that not all lectures include additional resources — that is fine, simply complete the self-declaration step and you are done.

Important: The certificate is only recorded once you complete the self-declaration. If you skip this step, no certificate will be saved — so do not forget to complete it after watching.
