Recording the supervision you receive

At a Glance

Supervision is booked separately from client appointments, using Book supervision in the My supervision panel below your calendar. That is why supervision never appears in the client list on New Appointment.

Where it lives

Open the Appointments page and scroll below the calendar to the My supervision panel. Everything to do with the supervision you receive happens there.

Your supervisor is set up once, in My Account, under the Supervision section.

Booking a session

  1. Click Book supervision in the My supervision panel.
  2. Choose the date and time it took place, or will take place. Past dates are fine, which is how you record supervision that has already happened.
  3. Set the length of the session.
  4. Choose your supervisor.
  5. Choose clinical or managerial.
  6. Set the period of client work you took to that session. TherapyLock fills this in for you and you can change it. There is a separate article on what those dates do.

Once the session has happened, mark it as attended.

Finding it on your calendar

Supervision appears in teal, labelled SUP for clinical or MGR for managerial, so it is distinguishable from client work at a glance.

Changing or removing a session

Two routes, and either works.

  • From the calendar. Find the session on the day it is booked, click it, make your changes and save
  • From the My supervision panel. Each session in the list has a pencil icon to edit and a bin icon to remove

If you booked the wrong date, the list is usually the quicker way to find it.

Repeating bookings are edited one at a time. If you booked a run of sessions and need to change them, each one is edited or removed separately from the list.

Your supervision log

Download log in the My supervision panel gives you a spreadsheet of your supervision, which is the format most people want for accreditation or renewal.
