Who created and delivers the autism course?

At a Glance

The course was co-created with autistic individuals and autistic counsellors, and it is delivered by tutors who are themselves neurodivergent or have close family members who are. Every tutor is also a qualified counselling tutor.

A course built from inside the experience

When this course was developed, the founding team recognised that autism training built only by neurotypical academics — even well-intentioned ones — would always carry a particular limitation. To genuinely close the gap counsellors face, the course had to be created in collaboration with autistic professionals themselves.

A wider team of neurodivergent practitioners was brought in to advise and guide development. Their input shapes the curriculum, the language, the framing, and the lived-experience interviews that run through Module 6.

Who delivers the live workshop

The tutors who deliver the live implementation workshop are:

  • Neurodivergent themselves, or have close family members who are neurodivergent
  • Qualified counselling tutors — formally trained to teach, not just to practise
  • Experienced practitioners working in counselling alongside their teaching

This combination matters. It is what makes the live workshop a genuinely held space — one where autistic identity is respected, where lived experience is in the room, and where practical guidance is grounded in the realities of actual counselling work.

Why we don't name individual tutors

Tutor team composition evolves over time. Naming individuals in marketing makes information go out of date and risks misrepresenting who you might learn from in any given cohort. Instead, we describe the team in terms that remain true: built and delivered by neurodivergent practitioners who are also qualified counselling tutors.

What graduates often say

"A very high quality training delivered by trainers who are themselves neurodivergent and promote both clarity and compassion."

"Developed with significant input from autistic professionals."

"I was so encouraged by the open, genuine and honest approach of the facilitators."
